Hands-on experience performing wireless assessments diagnostics and remediation. Ability to interpret wireless heatmaps coverage reports and performance metrics. Comfortable working fully on-site and traveling throughout Connecticut. Strong problem-solving abilities and technical documentation skills. Excellent communication and customer-facing skills. Cisco certifications such as CCNA CCNP Wireless or related. Prior experience working in higher education environments. Experience with wireless design tools (e.g. Ekahau AirMagnet).
Job Title : Cisco Wireless Field Engineer
Schedule : 40 hours / week 5 days onsite per week - (On-site with travel throughout Connecticut)
Duration- 3-6 months
Location : Hartford CT
Responsibilities :
- Evaluate existing Cisco wireless infrastructure including access points controllers configurations and signal coverage.
- Document findings and provide clear actionable recommendations.
- Implement remediation efforts based on assessment results (e.g. reconfiguration optimization hardware adjustments).
- Troubleshoot wireless performance issues and ensure stable secure connectivity.
- Communicate progress issues and results with project leads and stakeholders.
- Ensure all work aligns with Cisco best practices and institutional requirements.
