About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP of Collections Strategy and Operations to lead a team of Program Managers in overseeing all collections programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end collections strategy, including pre-charge-off, post-charge-off, and third-party agency operations. This role requires a strategic leader with a proven track record in building and scaling new collections channels, such as legal collections and debt sales, and a deep understanding of consumer protection and collections regulations. The VP will also be tasked with driving innovation, automation, and maintaining operational excellence while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Applicants must have at least 8 years' of experience in collections or recovery leadership, with a focus on both B2B and consumer collections for a creditor or lender. The role demands a strong analytical and operational mindset, the ability to manage to KPIs and financial targets, and experience in managing high-performing teams. The VP will be expected to collaborate cross-functionally with product, risk, finance, and data science teams to align the collections strategy with credit policy, portfolio performance, and financial goals. Strong relationship management skills with external partners, such as agencies, law firms, and debt buyers, are also essential. The ideal candidate will have a background in fintech, digital lending, or multi-product financial services and a proven track record of program design and launch in complex, regulated environments.
