SUMMARY : The Pharmacy Inventory Specialist ensures the efficient and accurate management of inventory and owes orders in our pharmacy. As an Inventory Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of inventory receiving, management, returns, and quality control within the pharmacy. This position works directly under the pharmacy Inventory Manager with joint direction from the MedWiz Management Inventory and Purchasing team.
1. Prescription Order Fulfillment :
- Ensure the efficient receiving of wholesale medication deliveries, management of owes, and support the fulfillment of prescription orders, ensuring timely and accurate dispensing including but not limited to :
- Maintain all products in the pharmacy in a neat, well-organized, and date sorted order in the proper locations.
- Ensuring Purchasing is notified of any Owes, out of stock items, or issues.
- Deliveries are sorted, received, and distributed / delivered efficiently and proactively
- Monitor Inventory Dashboard for order processing, inventory turnover, Owes and customer satisfaction, initiating corrective actions when necessary to ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met or exceeded.
2. Inventory Management :
Perform the Assigned Counts for the Inventory Recount Tool to maintain inventory control to ensure an accurate and adequate supply of medications and pharmaceutical supplies.Monitor stock levels, anticipate demand, and collaborate with the Purchasing Team, departments including Clinical, IV, and Logistic to ensure timely replenishment.Working with Purchasing, conduct monthly Brand Returns to ensure unused medication is returned to suppliers for credit.Assist prepack team, receiver, and returns technician as needed .Address all Product Recalls when notifications are received by ensuring : o Product is quarantined o Pharmacists, staff / key personnel are notified o Instructions on recall are followed for credit / return by supplierQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Current pharmacy technician license required , relevant certifications preferred but not required (e.g., PTCB). If not currently licensed, but be able to obtain with three to six months.
Proven experience in pharmacy operations,Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, and dispensing procedures.Familiarity with pharmacy management software and inventory control systems.Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.Effective communication skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Able to lift over 50lbsSchedule / shift expectations are based on business needs but are anywhere between 7am-6pm, with weekends possible. This role must also perform other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.Requirements :
