Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This is a non-management position, reporting to a supervisor or director.
Minimum Requirements
Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or eligibility for state licensure in South Carolina. Senior students graduating within three months may also apply.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
Must hold a license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or be eligible for licensure. BLS certification is mandatory. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Certified Respiratory Therapists hired prior to June 2016 are also acceptable. From June 2016 onward, passing the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam and Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation is required.
NRP and PALS certifications are required before working independently in the NICU and PICU in the Children's Hospital.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong communication, computer, and organizational skills is essential.
