We’re looking for a detail-focused Estimator to join a tight-knit team at a family-run machine shop in Chicago . Specializing in custom, high-precision components for industries like food, aerospace, packaging and automotive, our company values craftsmanship, reliability, and people-first leadership. Responsibilities

• Review technical prints and CAD drawings to determine dimensions, materials, and machining processes
• Generate labor, material, and machine time estimates for CNC and manual machining jobs
• Prepare detailed cost quotes for customers and sales reps, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
• Communicate directly with vendors to source material quotes and assess lead times
• Decide whether jobs should be completed in-house or outsourced and coordinate accordingly
• Input all estimates and order data into the ERP system and maintain project tracking
• Issue and monitor work orders to keep jobs aligned with production timelines
• Keep technical documentation and project files organized for quick reference and traceability
• Act as a resource for internal teams with updates on quoting status and job progress
