JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist include but are not limited to, performing accounting & clerical tasks related to the maintenance and processing of accounts payable for a company with a high volume of transactions. Works schedule is Mon – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in person, remote work not available for this position
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Education – 2 Year College Degree or accounting certificate program required
- Three years plus of related work in accounting

Maintains vendor accounts and files, identifying, researching and correcting problems with vendors and buyers.Organizes and maintains incoming purchases orders, accounts payable invoicing and payment processing systemTracks incoming freight and processes freight billingsVerifies receiving reports and inventory matching with purchase ordersReconciling monthly payables ledgers with vendor statementsProcessing vendor invoices for paymentPerforms check runsMonitor and organize the email for Accounts PayableResolves inventory and accounts payable issuesRetains a system of filing and record keeping for purchase orders, bills, and vendors including updating and archiving recordsCross train and provide cross training to cover other accounting department positionsBackup for staff members including answering multi-line telephone systemPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to climb 24 stairs as needed throughout the day.Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while performing various computer tasks.Remain in stationery position for long periods of time.Requires ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Must be able to frequently lift and move objects up to 35 pounds.Must be able to use shoulders, arms, hands to reach forward, overhead, downward and to the side.WORKING RELATIONSHIP
You must be able to work closely with the administration, purchasing team and receiving personnel. Teamwork is a definite must.
