Assists Professional Engineers with all aspects of design, field review, drafting, and production of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications. Implements, maintains, and updates Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) files. Creates graphic displays for public meetings; designs / prepares drawings and engineering / right-of-way maps. Maps municipal roads for State Gas Tax distribution; continuously updates / implements CADD system upgrades to in-house software; administers CADD system plotters and printer functionality. Participates in the transfer of existing manually maintained paper maps into GIS / CADD systems; performs mathematical calculations; assembles ongoing mapping processes.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Associate’s Degree in GIS, Surveying / Mapping, Engineering, Geography, CADD, Computer Science, or related field; minimum of one (1) year of experience in GIS or CADD applications.
Equivalencies :
1.Related Bachelor’s Degree and six (6) months of related experience
2.Unrelated Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and two (2) years of related experience
3.Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification and three (3) years of related experience.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH : Land surveying / mapping; trigonometry; abstracting / examining title work; maintaining graphic files / databases; conducting GIS / CADD software applications training / providing support; using ArcGIS / MicroStation V81 (must specify on application) .
