Founded in 2012, Urban Street Angels is a San Diego based non-profit dedicated to supporting homeless youth through supportive housing, peer support, mentorship, mental health counseling, and job training initiatives, to develop a more employable workforce and cultivate personal responsibility. Of California's unhoused population, 50% cite they first had an experience with homelessness between the ages of 18 and 25. This critical demographic has the potential to leave the streets behind for good when provided with the support needed to make a change in their lives. Urban Street Angels has made it our mission to serve this under-supported group, and in so doing, make meaningful progress toward ending homelessness in San Diego and beyond.

Title : Residential Services Coordinator

Status : Part-time, nonexempt, in-person

Hourly rate : $24

Schedule :   Hiring for the following schedules :

Schedule 1 :  Thurs 8pm - 12am (4 hours) and, Friday 6 : 30pm-10 : 30pm (4 hours),

Schedule 2 :  Saturday 8pm - 12am (4 hours) and, Sunday 8pm - 12am (4 hours)

Position Summary :   The Residential Services Coordinator serves youth participants of Urban Street Angels visTAY program, through peer support and mentoring, assistance with food services, knowledge and insight in building life skills and provides recovery support. During assigned shift, the Residential Services Coordinator patrols the facility, maintains a written log of all activities that occur during shift, performs regular patrols throughout entire location, helps with facility cleanliness and maintenance, as well as other duties as assigned by supervisor. The Residential Services Coordinator will report directly to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities :

• Serves as liaison between partners and linked programs, and encourages clients use of these resources
• Provides education and support to clients about the mental health stigma and ways to combat it
• Generates community support through volunteers (i.e. organizing events / volunteer opportunities)
• Provide ongoing side-by-side services related to skills development
• Displays regular and reliable attendance; reports to and departs from work on time, as scheduled
• Successfully functions as a team member, while remaining organized, documenting all TAY interactions correctly on forms and / or into computer tracking systems according to procedure
• Assists participants in making food (i.e. teaching how to cook and helping to prepare family style meals)
• Provides assistance to staff
• Assures compliance with established rules, policies and procedures
• Ability to multi-task and handle competing demands from a program of 16 TAY with the ability to use training and remain calm during any potential emergencies or crises
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
