Commercial Flooring Estimator

The Commercial Flooring Estimator (Flooring) is responsible for analyzing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure precise pricing and resource allocation for flooring projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of flooring materials, installation methods, and estimating tools. The Estimator collaborates with internal teamsincluding sales, project management, and procurementto align project scope, pricing, and execution strategies. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate cost records, conducting site assessments, and monitoring market trends to ensure competitive and precise cost evaluations for commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities
The Estimator (Flooring) contributes to the growth and success of Custer by achieving the following objectives :
Qualifications
Extensive knowledge of flooring materials (e.g., hardwood, tile, carpet, vinyl) and installation techniques
Proficiency in estimating software (such as Measure Square, RFMS, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents accurately
Effective communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Education / Experience / Other Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Proven experience in Construction or Flooring industry, 1-2 years required
Experience with ERP software, RFMS preferred
Must have reliable transportation
Must have valid driver's license
While this default location is the office setting, this position may require site visits to complete estimations
