About the Role
As Engineering Auditor , you will support the NYC Department of Design and Constructions (DDC) Engineering Audit Office (EAO) through detailed auditing and quality assurance of Purchase Requisition (PR) and Certificate of Occupancy (CO) packages submitted by Design-Build teams. This high-impact role ensures compliance, transparency, and financial accuracy across a range of capital construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Audit PR and CO packages submitted by Design-Build (DB) contractors, in parallel with audits performed by the Preventative Maintenance Collaborative (PMC) and DDC project staff
Conduct evaluation meetings with DB / PMC / DDC project management and auditors to verify accuracy and completeness before submission to EAO
Perform QA reviews of reimbursable costs, trade labor rates, overhead multipliers, and other financial documents to certify compliance with NYC Comptroller directives, PPB Rules, and DB contract terms
Ensure all audited packages meet completeness and conformance standards and are fully prepared for processing by the DDC EAO and CFO
Validate all documentation for PR packages, including executed agreements, payment estimates, quantity verifications, and all supporting data required for financial approval
Requirements
Direct experience with the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) systems
Proven ability to conduct financial and technical audits of public construction project documentation
Familiarity with Design-Build contracts and NYC Comptroller / PPB regulatory requirements
Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate technical, financial, and contractual documentation for accuracy and completeness
Excellent communication skills for inter-agency collaboration and audit meetings
