Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : 12 / 15 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med / Surg position caring for adult and pediatric patients, requiring at least 2 years of experience and an IN or compact RN license. Responsibilities Work in a hospital-based Adult Medical / Pediatric Med Surg unit Care for patients in both adult medical and adult surgical units (floats between 2N and 3N) Patient population includes adult and pediatric medical / surgical cases Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 5, with LPNs and CNAs supporting care Unit equipped with telemetry, Phillips vital signs monitors, vein viewers, bladder scanners, and uses Meditech for charting 12-hour night shifts, three nights per week Bed sizes : 2N has 23 surgical beds, 3N has 19 adult beds and 5 pediatric beds Floating between adult medical and surgical units required Duties include medication administration, vital sign monitoring, IVs, blood administration, point of care testing, and isolation procedures Support staff of LPNs and CNAs assists with vital signs, point of care tasks, daily living, and patient ambulation Orientation provided on the unit with a preceptor and HR support as needed Dress code requires neat, clean scrubs of any color (except blue jean material), closed toe and heeled shoes, and long hair pulled back Will be required to work either Christmas or New Year's holiday (Eve and Day) Requirements Active IN or compact RN license Current BLS certification required ACLS certification preferred but not mandatory Minimum of 2 years of recent medical / surgical nursing experience Experience with Meditech charting preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-641826.
