JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title : Operations Project Developer Department :   Operations Solutions Reports To :  Operations Project Manager POSITION PURPOSE :

The Operations Project Developer will Assist the Operations Project Management team to implement, test management and development of Operations Software Applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Identify, resolve and / or escalate system issues that arise with Operations software applications and provide user support as required. Escalate and coordinate issues to Kalitta IT and / or 3rd party vendors as required.
  • Assist IT and 3rd party developers with testing and deployment of software upgrades and enhancements.
  • Perform “First-line” support assistance to Operations Personnel for software

applications and collaborate with IT in diagnosing any programming issues.

  • Perform project related admin duties including taking meeting notes, writing software user stories, using project management tools and general time and process organization
  • Establish and train teams on processes and strategies
  • Research and evaluate new hardware and software technology and help make decisions on the cost-benefit analysis of new purchases
  • Coordinate with Corporate IT to maintain hardware and software systems as needed
  • Creating and updating JIRA’s for program application
  • Handle any additional duties as assigned by the Project Management Team
  • EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE :

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient at managing time and resources
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to draw up detailed project plans and schedules
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of managing crises as and when they arise
  • Adept at negotiating internally as well as externally
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English

    QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and a positive attitude
  • Must be able to work independently and to carry out duties to completion within parameters of instructions given
  • Organizational skills
  • Understanding of a part 121 airline with the emphasis in the Operations Control Center a plus
  • Previous experience programming in multiple languages such as Python, SQL, Rave, PHP, and ASP
  • Ability to learn additional programming language(s), as required
  • Basic understanding of System Software, database management (SQL code).
