FULLY REMOTE ROLE - $110k-125k

We are looking for a Lead Front-end Developer who will own and elevate the frontend discipline at our agency. You’ll work closely with customers, designers, and engineers to lead frontend projects, define development standards, and drive architectural decisions. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our frontend engineering practice while mentoring other developers and representing our company in the wider tech community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead frontend architecture and implementation across multiple projects
  • Establish and maintain high standards for code quality, performance, and accessibility
  • Define and evolve our frontend stack and best practices
  • Collaborate with designers, project managers, and backend developers to deliver polished, high-performing web applications
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers
  • Represent the company at conferences, webinars, and community events
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and advocate for their adoption when appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in frontend web development
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript, React, and React-based frameworks like GatsbyJS, Next.js, or Astro
  • Strong understanding of static site generation, server-side rendering, and modern frontend architecture
  • Experience deploying and optimizing web applications on Vercel, Netlify, or similar platforms
  • Strong communication skills and leadership presence
  • Experience defining frontend standards, code reviews, and fostering best practices
  • Portfolio or public code (e.g., GitHub, blog posts, conference talks) that demonstrates technical leadership
  • Nice to Haves

  • Experience with headless CMS platforms like Drupal, Sanity, or Contentful
  • Experience with templating engines like Twig, Jinja, or Nunjucks
  • Understanding of accessibility (WCAG), SEO, and performance best practices
  • Experience integrating with APIs and working in JAMstack architecture
  • Previous experience contributing to or maintaining open-source projects
  • Experience working in a professional services company

    At Oomph, our career track is based on 5 levels. We're currently seeking folks who demonstrate at a minimum the lead-level knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for success in this role, which is aligned with a $110-$125k range. The final compensation will be based on the experience and expertise demonstrated throughout the interview process.
