Job Description
Montgomery College, Takoma Park / Silver Spring Campus, has an immediate need for a part-time Instructional Associate in the Writing, Reading, and Language Center (WRLC). The standard work schedule is Monday through Thursday (3 : 00 p.m. - 7 : 00 p.m.) and one virtual day Saturday (9 : 00 a.m. - 1 : 00 p.m.) or Sunday (10 : 00 p.m. - 2 : 00 p.m.). Based on the needs of the department, flexibility with the schedule may be required. This is a bargaining, non-exempt, grade 25 position. For non-exempt positions, you are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. Under supervision and / or direction, this position provides services to students and / or faculty in support of the College's academic programs and commitment to community engagement. The incumbent will work with students, in-person and virtually, to tutor and demonstrate subject matter concepts and guide students to reinforce faculty teaching. Incumbents may help students with course work, assignments, and associated study / learning activities. This position will also collaborate with faculty in multiple disciplines to foster efficient student engagement, retention, and completion, and may supervise student assistants. The set up, installation, and maintenance of software used in a learning center, as well as some record keeping tasks, may also be required.

Hiring Range : $28.79-$37.42 annually. Initial salary placement for new hires falls between the minimum and midpoint of the range and is based on relevant candidate experience and internal equity. The maximum salary for this position is $46.04.
