Freight Analyst

The Freight Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of freight reconciliation for internal fleet. Activity is processed in PDI and ancillary systems. Responsibilities will include written and verbal communications and collaboration with various internal departments and management. Monitor carrier activity and implement processes to streamline invoice reconciliation and discrepancy resolution. The position requires the ability to multi-task and ability to pivot as needed.

Bachelor's degree in business or related field and / or 1 to 3 years of business experience. Combination of education and experience indicates that the candidate is qualified to perform the essential functions of the position will be considered. Candidates must have well-developed communication and organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of Microsoft suite of tools; Excel to include advanced tools, Access, Power BI and other desktop applications a plus.

Major Duties :

  • Process / review daily freight invoices.
  • Research and resolve all billing discrepancies. Recognize / evaluate patterns related to volume, rate, and incorrect billing
  • Request information on mileage discrepancies.
  • Evaluate and analyze repetitive issues / patterns related to mileage discrepancy and reach out to the billing team.
  • Generate a report on miles that have yet to be validated and forward it to the supervisor.
  • Ensure that invoices are imported daily and monitor reports by running Access queries to prevent any delays in processing.
  • Correct invoice import file recycle file errors.
  • Maintain oversight of unreconciled freight to avoid accumulation.
  • Send unreconciled freight report to billing department to ensure prompt billing.
  • Initiate the update of rate tables immediately up receiving approval and receipt of new rates.
  • Log tickets to work on internal issues.
  • Complete mass payment at period end following a comprehensive review and noting reasons for outstanding BOL's.
  • Ensure proper documentation is received from drivers.
  • Assist in providing documentation for audit requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
