About the Role
The Company is seeking passionate individuals to join its Board of Directors. The successful candidates will be part of a dedicated team that works to promote and advocate for the reduction of harms associated with drug use, including overdoses and the spread of infectious diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C. Board members are expected to support the organization's mission, participate in policy enforcement, and take on financial accountability. While experience in harm reduction, finances, leadership, fundraising, policy, public health, law, addiction services, or related fields is beneficial, it is not required. The Company values diverse cultural lived experiences and expertise, and encourages individuals with a strong commitment to the community and the issues at hand to apply. Responsibilities for Board members at the company include sharing their experience and skills, actively participating in the organization's performance assessment, and representing the company in the community. Monthly meetings, currently mostly virtual, and participation in at least one committee or workgroup are also part of the role. The company is particularly interested in individuals who can contribute to fundraising efforts, but encourages all passionate individuals to apply, regardless of their fundraising capacity. The ideal candidates will be able to effectively articulate the company's mission, and goals, and maintain the confidentiality of board meetings. The company is an equal-opportunity organization and does not discriminate based on any protected characteristic.
