What you’ll do :

• Provides routine gynecological and obstetrical care for women. Performs annual physicals, healthmaintenancescreeningsandordersimmunizations.Performsprenatalandpostnatal check-ups.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic studies and lab work for OB / GYN patients. Differentiates normalfromabnormalfindingsthroughthephysicalexamaswellasthereviewofbaseline historiesandsystems.OrdersandinterpretslabworkandotherdiagnosticstudiesforGYN patients.Developsandimplementsaplanofcarethatmayincludeprescribing medications and / or othertreatments.
• Provides complete pre-natal care including abdominal and pelvic exams. Educates women andfamiliesaboutnaturalfamilyplanning,childbirthoptions,nutrition, andotherissuesrelated to pregnancy and childbirth
• Themidwifeprovidesobstetricalmanagementandattendsdeliveriesofhospital-patients presenting at or over 35 completed weeks ofpregnancy.
• Collaborates with the on-call MD regularly and / or as needed. May refer patient to MD or subspecialty physiciansifpatientneedsarefoundtobemorecomplexthanthemidwifeis licensed totreat
• Prescribesmedications,treatmentsorproceduresasneededandwithinthescopeofhospital privileges.
• Providescareforpatientswithmoderatelycomplexpregnancy-relatedorgynecological problems.Diagnoses and determines course of treatment for such problems.
• May perform designated office procedures such as NSTs, AFl's, endometrial biopsies, BartholinWordCatheters,skinbiopsiesandcolposcopieswithappropriatetrainingand certifications.
