Job Responsibilities
This pool of qualified faculty covers foundational Allied Health Sciences (AHS) courses for multiple programs of the MTC School of Healthcare. Courses include but are not limited to Medical Terminology, Basic Patient Care, Certified Nursing Assisting (CNA), Cardiac Care Technician (CCT), Phlebotomy, Computers in Health Care, Health Careers Preparation and Law and Ethics. Adjuncts are strongly encouraged to teach a minimum of one in person class.
Professors will prepare, organize and sustain lectures / clinical experiences with a diverse student body; Evaluate and monitor student performance and development; communicate via email and D2L (MTC's Learning Management System (LMS); Aid students in achieving their academic goals and objectives; Ensure compliance with college policies, guidelines and processes; cultivate an engaging and productive learning environment.
Reports to the AHS Director and work with others to ensure student success.
This position is located across the Midlands Technical College campuses.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
Associates degree or higher in any Allied Health Science or Nursing discipline with demonstrated competences in the respective teaching area; OR If relevant, must have clinical / bedside skills; SC licensed RN or LPN with a minimum of one year of experience in caring for the chronically ill of any age; current certification and minimum of three years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include a minimum of four years of professional experience with two years in higher education or administration. Preference given to individuals available during day hours and able to offer in-person instructions. Must possess excellent computer and communication skills. Bachelor's degree with prior higher education teaching experience preferred.
