Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Database Engineer with a strong background in designing, building, and maintaining complex database systems to support a federal client in the Washington, DC area. The Senior Database Engineer requires deep expertise in PL / SQL development, performance optimization, and cross-functional collaboration to support enterprise-level applications and data infrastructure.

This role requires an ACTIVE Top Secret / TS Clearance

Responsibilities of the Senior Database Engineer :

Architect and implement scalable database solutions using PL / SQL, ensuring high performance and reliability

Develop and refine stored procedures, triggers, and packages to support business logic and data workflows

Conduct root cause analysis on data-related issues and implement corrective measures to maintain system integrity.

Maintain documentation of database structures, configurations, and updates

Qualifications of the Senior Database Engineer :

10+ years of hands-on experience in database engineering or development roles

Advanced proficiency in PL / SQL and Oracle SQL

Strong grasp of query optimization and performance tuning

Familiarity with automation using VBA and scripting in Unix environments

Hands-on experience working front-end technologies such as HTML and CSS

Experience with cloud platforms including Oracle Cloud Services and Pivotal Cloud Foundry

Proven track record managing databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL (versions 8.4.x to 9.5.x), MS SQL Server, and DynamoDB

Understanding of multi-tier architectures and GIS systems like PostGIS

Comfortable working across diverse operating systems including Solaris, Red Hat Linux, Windows, and Oracle VM.

Expertise in configurations using Active Data Guard and GoldenGate

ACTIVE Top Secret / TS Clearance Required

Compensation of the Senior Database Engineer :

Salary between 150,000 - $175,000

commensurate of experience
