Note : This is a hybrid telecommute role wherein the employee's BCU headquarters could be at various locations throughout the state of Indiana that have available office space.
Role
Responsible for leading the credit analysis function within Beacon Ag Group and for analyzing credit and financial reports to determine risk involved in loaning money or extending credit. Developing and leading the credit analysts so they are contributing critical thinkers in the loan process.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Leads, develops, and evaluates performance of assigned personnel, including conducting performance appraisals. Meets with analysts as a group and individually on a regular basis to further develop individuals based on Beacon Credit Union's core values and provide an opportunity for continuous two-way communication. Makes recommendations to lenders and management when necessary. Participates in group conversations about specific questions or concerns as needed. Recommends procedural changes to management when inconsistencies are uncovered during the underwriting process.
- Performs the initial and ongoing credit analysis to determine if members' credit requests satisfy policies and procedure guidelines, and prepares and processes all applicable documentation for credit analysis and risk ratings. Prepares a detailed narrative based on the financial trends and ratios to present in the loan summary report.
- Images and tracks financial documents, including financial statement, tax return, credit report, risk analysis, annual review report, and loan request presentation report, necessary for annual review and loan approval processes for the borrower.
- Administers Suntell. This includes being a power user, understanding all updates, testing updates and communicating written communication on any changes in procedures.
- Provides and maintains reports to management, senior lenders, lenders and analysts on a regular basis. Follows up with appropriate parties when necessary.
- Completes special assignments requested by management and members.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Five to eight years of leadership experience. Previous agriculture and / or commercial credit analysis or related experience preferred.
Four-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of financial spreads and tax returns a plus
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel)
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Must be extremely detail oriented
Excellent communication skills with both internal and external personnel
Ability to foster sound relationships with outside entities
A significant level of trust and diplomacy, in addition to courtesy and tact
Standard position hours are Monday through Friday, 8 : 15 a.m. to 5 : 15 p.m.
