JOB SUMMARY
The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine is looking for a provider to join their growing team! This provider will promote, provide, and maintain patient care under physician supervision and in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. This Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (APP) will obtain and record complete medical history, performs physical exams according to departmental protocols; obtains and interprets laboratory tests according to departmental protocols; assesses patient database and identifies biopsychosocial needs; develops and implements patient management plan; initiates and manages preventative healthcare; and provide relevant counseling and education to patients and significant others within role limitation. 7 on / 7 off. 7p-7a. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
Master's Degree Graduate of a Master's degree or higher Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician (ARC-PA) accredited Physician Assistant program OR Master’s degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population.
(NCCPA) NAT COMM ON CRFT PHY ASST Certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification Upon Hire and
(PA-C) Phy Assistant - Certified Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board Upon Hire and
Current applicable (ACLS) American Heart Association Life Support certification(s) based on UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers Upon Hire OR
Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by Texas State Board of Nursing. Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing. Acute Care certification.
