Utility Inspector

Do you have the expertise and passion to make a real impact in utility and pipeline safety We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Utility Inspector to join our dynamic team in Southern Illinois. This role is critical to ensuring safety quality and compliance in natural gas distribution projects overseeing field activities and ensuring adherence to OSHA laws Federal Safety Standards (49 C.F.R. Part 192) and client policies.

As a Utility Inspector you will play a key role in monitoring pipeline and gas distribution activities working alongside contractors to verify that projects are executed safely efficiently and according to industry regulations. Youll utilize your expertise to ensure compliance address safety concerns and maintain the highest standards of quality control. This position is perfect for someone who thrives in the field enjoys problem-solving and is passionate about protecting public safety and infrastructure integrity.

Responsibilities :

• Oversee and inspect pipeline and gas distribution field activities to ensure compliance with OSHA 49 C.F.R. Part 192 company safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Conduct visual inspections of pipeline and poly gas main installations verifying compliance with engineering drawings codes and industry standards.

Lead and support a culture of safety ensuring work is performed following best practices and federal regulations.

Required Qualifications :

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the utility or pipeline industry.

Experience working on distribution main and service replacement projects particularly installing new poly mains and services .

Preferred Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED.

API 1169 certification preferred.

Passion for fieldwork safety compliance and maintaining high-quality industry standards .

Compensation for this role ranges from $28 - $34 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
