The Publishing Division of the American College of Physicians (ACP) is seeking a part-time Deputy Editor to work 14 hours per week in its Clinical Decision Resource department. ACP is a diverse community of internal medicine physician specialists and subspecialists united by a commitment to excellence. ACP and its physician members lead the profession in education, standard-setting, and the sharing of knowledge to advance the science and practice of internal medicine.

The Deputy Editor will lead aspects of the editorial process for DynaMedex (DM) Overview and Recommendations section, a clinical-decision support product owned by DynaMed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Identifying and recruiting expert peer reviewers of internal medicine topics within DM for the Overview and Recommendation section
  • Working with the DynaMed team on the creation and production of quality, timely clinical internal medicine content handled by the ACP Deputy Editor while ensuring all contractual obligations are met
  • Ensuring ACP’s branded content reflects our principals and standards regarding evidence-based medicine when possible
  • Providing feedback on marketing and communications activities as they relate to ACP edited DM content
  • Tracking the progress, deadlines, and completion of each stage of the editorial process for content handled by ACP

Qualified candidates will have :

  • A medical degree with concentration in internal medicine, license / certification current and in good standing, and recent experience in patient care.
  • Scholarly publication and review experience, along with the ability to identify criteria for expert reviewers
  • Strong editorial judgment skills and the ability to synthesize detailed clinical information
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
