Pharmacist Inpatient

JOB SUMMARY

The PHARMACIST, under general supervision, provides pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners.

Fills prescriptions, dispenses medicines, counsels patients and medical practitioners regarding the nature and use of drugs, and trains and / or supervises pharmacy interns.

Prepares and maintains all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges, and inventory.

Services are limited to those in compliance with the facility policies / procedures.

EDUCATION

Completion of accredited university pharmacy program and successful passing of competency exams meeting state regulations.

LICENSURE

Current and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist in the state of practice; NAPB examination.

EXPERIENCE

two years of current experience as a Pharmacist in a clinical setting.

CREDENTIALS

Current CPR at least; and other health and screening tests as required by specific facilities and / or regulatory agencies.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Various client facility settings; possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
