Quality Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing and production quality, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring product compliance with established quality standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Audit processes, product, and quality system to verify compliance with regulations and quality standards.
  • Conduct customer inspection visits to demonstrate compliance with product specifications.
  • Generate control indicators to prioritize and monitor failures or deviations requiring quick resolution.
  • Implement process improvements and corrective actions based on analysis of failures in key product variables.
  • Document, maintain, and update process MEFAs.
  • Establish barriers / containment actions to ensure non-recurrence in corrective actions, complaints, failures, and deviations.
  • Prepare reports on inspections, tests, failures, and complaints.
  • Assist in training and scheduling of 3-4 inspectors, ensuring quality and process efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical).
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in production quality.
  • Proficiency in GD&T and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Proven analytical and organizational ability.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • AWS certification.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control and KPI Management.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, UL (Underwriters Laboratories), and FM (Factory Mutual).
  • Results-driven with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience with auditing and process improvement.
  • Work Environment

    This role is based in a dynamic manufacturing environment, where you will work closely with production teams to ensure quality standards are met. The position involves coordinating multiple projects simultaneously and requires effective communication with various departments. Dress code is professional, suitable for a manufacturing setting.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shreveport, Louisiana.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $43.27 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
