Job Description

Summary / Objective : The Technology Analyst supports SBCC's Technology Scouting & Vetting (TS&V) mission by conducting research, problem curation, and market analysis to identify technologies for U.S. Government customers. This role is responsible for producing high-quality deliverables such as Quick Looks, Advanced Analyses, and Technology Summary Reports that inform customer decision-making. The Technology Analyst collaborates with IPT Leads, Project Managers, and external partners to ensure requirements are accurately captured, technologies are effectively evaluated, and deliverables meet SBCC's standards of clarity and impact.

Essential Functions :

  • Conduct market research and scouting of commercial and non-traditional industry partners.
  • Support problem curation efforts by engaging with stakeholders to refine requirements and identify root causes.
  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed scouting reports on companies and technologies, including technical capabilities and past performance.
  • Contribute to the development of Technology Summary Reports, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights.
  • Track requirements, risks, and external factors affecting project execution, reporting findings to IPT Leads.
  • Assist with the preparation of Showcase event materials, including vendor coordination and capability briefs.
  • Maintain data accuracy across systems (SharePoint, HubSpot, Power BI, or equivalent).
  • Provide analytic support for customer briefings, Program Management Reviews (PMRs), and IPT deliverables.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, market trends, and defense innovation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and SMEs to ensure scouting results align with customer needs.

Work Environment : Ideal candidate lives near or is willing to relocate to assigned customer locations. Hybrid and / or remote opportunities will be considered.

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelors and / or Associates degree in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in research, analysis, or technology scouting.
  • Experience managing cross-functional project teams.
  • Demonstrated experience organizing high-impact technology demonstration events.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficient in various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, & hybrid)
  • Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, and administrative skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Senior Military Leaders, staff personnel, and contractors
  • Familiarity with DoD acquisition programs and SBIR / STTR ecosystem.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
  • Advanced Degree : Business, Project Management, or other related field
  • Advanced Certifications : Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or Program Management Professional (PgMP) or Portfolio Management Professional (PfMP), Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Prosci Change Management, Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), Strategic Leadership Training, DAWIA, CPI, Executive Coaching, Federal Acquisition Certification for Program and Project Managers (FAC-P / PM), or Defense Innovation / Acquisition University (DIU / DAU) courses
  • Knowledge / Experience with business and / or marketing practices
  • Knowledge / Experience with developing government contract proposals
  • Familiarity with contracts, legal, and financial management
  • 2+ years Government acquisition / contract project experience
  • Familiarity with DoD Instruction (DoDI) 50002 (Operation of the Defense Acquisition System) and other related DAWIA education
  • Work authorization / security clearance requirements
