Project Accountant
We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our team in Murrieta, California. The position is within the construction industry and the role will be located onsite. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities :
- Audit financial documents and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all tax and federal works regulations.
- Manage all financial transactions, including fixed payments, variable expenses, and subcontractor pay applications.
- Generate accurate and timely reports using accounting software.
- Handle all subcontractor billings and necessary paperwork, ensuring that all subcontractors are in compliance on projects and meeting requirements.
- Oversee the ongoing maintenance of accounts, ensuring cashflow is utilized properly.
- Support management in the accurate production of monthly project budgets.
- Ensure the accurate and timely payment of subcontractors once cash receipts for projects are received.
- Assist in weekly accounts payable check run for vendors.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Implement Standard Operating Procedures as needed and inform executives of changes.
- Work with the team to manage and update accounting software systems.
Requirements :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Project Accountant.Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required.Experience with ADP - Financial Services is essential.Knowledge of Costpoint software is necessary.Familiarity with Deltek and Deltek Vision systems is required.Experience with About Time software is desirable.Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is mandatory.Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).Prior experience in Auditing is highly desirable.Candidates must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
