Overview

The Engineering Leadership Program (ELP) is a rotation program designed to cultivate our next generation of technical leaders and individual contributors. Through the program the individual will gain a broad picture of the Edmund Optics (EO) culture, customers, and capabilities. This individual will move through several departments working side-by-side with our optical designers, sales engineers, manufacturing engineers, project managers, etc. This position is ideally suited to the motivated engineer / scientist who wants to experience a wide range of engineering and business disciplines and tackle challenges strategic to the corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with leaders throughout the company to better understand how EO operates and gain awareness of ongoing projects
  • Assist EO customers with application-specific technical solutions
  • Recognize and develop significant sales opportunities with the Sales team, possibly through on-site customer visits
  • Research, define, and test catalog products with the Product Development team
  • Specify and manage catalog and custom product life cycle with the Project Management team
  • Design optical products and optomechanical systems with the Design team
  • Develop product-specific demonstrations for industry trade shows with the Marketing team
  • Write technical articles for the website and industry trade journals
  • Define and teach internal training seminars
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Requirements :

  • US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident (green card) preferred
  • Excellent telephone, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organization skills – ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Education / Experience :

  • Degree in Optical Engineering, Physics or other Engineering field; Experience with optical and mechanical design software preferred.
