Job Description
The Office ofUndergraduate Programs seeks an Assistant Director to support the current “one-stop” service center for students, offering academic planning and counseling, crisis support, internship and career advice. Liaison work with offices critical to student satisfaction e.g., Student Services, academic departments, athletics.
The incumbent will act as a generalist, whose main focus will be to provide academic advising and support services to sophomores, juniors and seniors
Provide academic advising for a caseload of ~ students iin the Carroll School undergraduate program. Responsible for interpreting forms related to academic status; Interpret student records and analyze the university and school specific policies to provide accurate information; Assist with course registration each fall, spring, and summer registration period; Monitor the degree progress for all students; Provide summer advising and support to incoming first year students at the seven summer orientations; Serve as a resource for faculty advisors who have questions about their students; Conduct liaison work with offices critical to student support and satisfaction e.g., Counseling Services, Campus Ministry, Dean of Students’ Office, Residential Life, Student Services, BAIC, LTL, Montserrat, academic departments, athletics, etc.; Consult with the Senior Associate Dean on individual student issues and concerns
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range : $65, to $81,; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
A minimum of three years’ experience in curricular advising for college students and liaison with university faculty and staff; enthusiasm for students coupled with a commitment to the fair implementation of policy; event planning experience highly desirable
Requirements
BA or BS degree, Master’s degree preferred
Must have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to prioritize workflow, work well with minimum supervision, and accept responsibility for total task completion is required, must work well with minimum supervision, and accept responsibility for total task completion.
Must be proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office suite; experience with student information systems preferred.
Some evening, and occasional weekend- work is required.
