Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our leadership team and ensure the Club’s financial strength, compliance, and long-term strategic success. They will oversee all accounting operations, financial controls, and reporting for our organization. In this key leadership role, they will partner with the GM and Finance Committee to drive budgets, forecasts, cash flow management, and capital project funding.

Requirements

The Controller will oversee AR, AP, GL, bank reconciliations and fixed asset management. They will be reviewing and analyzing insurance, tax obligations and investment performance. The controller is expected to attended the monthly Board and Finance Committee meetings.

They will ensure accuracy and transparency in all member billing, collections, payroll, and financial transactions, while delivering clear, timely financial statements and presentations. This position plays a pivotal role in long-term financial planning, capital investment oversight, and risk management, ensuring full compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and auditing standards.

Education and / or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• CPA preferred; CHAE certification a plus.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience (minimum 2 years in a Controller or equivalent role, preferably in a club or hospitality environment).
• Proficiency with Clubessential software preferred.
• Proven experience with capital project funding and strategic financial planning.
• Our ideal candidate will have non-profit or private club experience.
