American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a current AZ or compact RN license and 2 years of ER / Trauma experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 31-bed Emergency Room within an acute care settingPatient population includes trauma, cardiac events, high risk OB, pediatric (11%), psychiatric holds, MVAs, GSWs, and conscious sedation casesNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 3-4Flexible 12-hour shifts with varying start times including day, evening, and mid shiftsWeekend shifts are required every other weekendMust work 2 of 3 major holidays during the assignmentExpected to float between Gilbert and Chandler ER locations as neededUses Cerner EMR and GE Lifepacks for telemetry monitoringVentilators include Puritan Benette 840, Dreager, Vision Bipap, and V60sCharge Nurse, Unit Secretary, paramedic, and CNA support present on unitModerate conscious sedation and cardioversion procedures performedResponsibilities include caring for diverse emergency and trauma cases, performing moderate conscious sedation, and caring for psychiatric and pediatric patientsTeam includes physicians, midlevel providers, ER pharmacists (day), paramedics, and CNAs for comprehensive supportFloor-specific orientation provided (2-3 days), with study guides for skills testing supplied in advanceNavy scrubs must be worn while on duty24 / 7 RT and pharmacy services availableFirst to float among staff and travelers is required for this positionRadius rule of 50 miles applies for eligibilityCandidates must be able to work a flexible schedule and adapt to rapidly changing patient needs\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license in hand at time of considerationMinimum 2 years recent ER / Trauma RN experience requiredCertifications needed : BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ENPC)Must complete a Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam 24-48 hours prior to acceptance, maximum two attempts allowedMust pass a Sim Lab and sterile technique test on the first day of orientationExperience with Cerner EMR preferredCopy of Driver’s License required for considerationTwo professional references : one supervisor from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 yearsCandidates must not be current or recent (within 1 year) employees of any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility\n Benefits\n
