Principal Network Engineer I Location :   Remote EST / CST Employees :   1,000|  Team Size :   5-8 Industry :   FinTech | Payments Domain Reports To : VP Technical OperationsSeeking a senior level technical leader with expertise in systems and network infrastructure to oversee design, implementation, and operational excellence across both on-prem and cloud-based architectures. Most Important  Responsibilities :

  • Senior-level leadership across network and systems operations, ensuring scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, and maintain complex enterprise infrastructure solutions, aligning with business objectives and security standards.
  • Oversee full lifecycle of network and systems infrastructure including capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive maintenance.
  • Lead high-visibility infrastructure projects, including complex change initiatives, upgrades, and critical incident response.
  • Work closely with cross-functional internal teams including engineering, security, and architecture to align strategic direction and resolve recurring issues.
  • Deliver technical reports on performance metrics, usage trends, and recommend improvements to leadership.

What you can bring to the table to impact this role, team, and organization :

  • 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience; systems, networking and cloud.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical leadership or architectural role.
  • Expertise with  EVPN VXLAN, BGP, and OSPF  protocols.
  • Strong experience with  Palo Alto Next Generation Firewalls  and Panorama.
  • Proficiency with  Juniper  networking hardware; familiarity with Cisco and Arista is also adequate.
  • Extensive knowledge of  cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP  environments.
  • Experience deploying and managing  Palo Alto VM  appliances in cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of networking fundamentals in both  Linux and Windows  environments.
  • Experience managing multi-platform environments with a strong emphasis on uptime, scalability, and security.
  • Experienced in scripting, automation, and infrastructure code practices using  Terraform, Ansible, and / or Python  preferred.

    • Bonus Experience / Skills :

  • Experience with load balancing solutions, specifically  HAProxy .

    • Benefits :   Medical, Vision, Dental, PTO, Sick Time, HAS, 401K Compensation : $150 - $160K
