Physical Security Specialist

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a potential future position as a Physical Security Specialist working as part of a vibrant team on a contract providing cybersecurity and infrastructure protection services in support of an Intelligence Agency customer. All the personnel on the team will work collaboratively to support the mission and protect the agency's personnel, facilities, information, and systems. This includes delivering expert guidance and oversight to ensure a robust and effective protection program across multiple security domains and global locations.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

Responsibilities

Ensures assigned security projects and programs comply with required security governance for physical, industrial, information, and other applicable security disciplines, e.g., IC Directives; DOD directives, instructions and manuals; security standards, national interim guidance, and Executive Orders governing physical, industrial and information security.

Examples include but are not limited to : ICD-705 Tech Spec, National Industrial Security Program Manual, DoD Information Security and SCI policies and regulations, and Committee on National Security Systems publications, and provide general guidance of TEMPEST concepts and requirements.

Manages and oversees the SCIF and Collateral Area lifecycle from concept, planning, construction, operation and management, mission conclusion, accreditation / certification, and final facility disposition.

Performs other collaborative duties that are influenced by physical security requirements and standards.

Coordinates and liaises with the agency, members of the Department of Defense (DoD), the Intelligence Community (IC), and external offices to obtain information, develop solutions, keep abreast of current issues, and communicate with customers to safeguard classified information and NGA programs, and to sustain and advance the agency Physical Security Programs.

Provides technical expertise concerning physical security.

Manages and operates associated customer service phone lines, email accounts and messages during core hours of operations (0800 1600 M-F). Adjustment of hours or operation may be adjusted to accommodate operational and mission needs of agency Physical and Industrial Security needs.

Maintains and active access and use as directed administration and security electronic software tools, databases and systems to sustain and advance the ageny Physical Security Programs.

Maintains well organized, complete, current, and accurate records in accordance with agency policy and federal laws (ensures up-to-date records are received from customer, i.e., accreditation packages, approvals, (e.g., database and hardcopy), current and accurate Co-Utilization and Joint-Utilization agreements, collateral area files, status remarks, expirations, inspections, etc.

Manages and maintains data entries into community databases, e.g. IC SCIF database, agency's PeopleSoft database, and locally created database used to track work efforts. Monitor existing SCIF accreditations and secure areas to ensure they are in scope.

Prepares and / or reviews documentation supporting the SCIF accreditation process, compartmented area approval and secure area approval process to include but not limited to Fixed Facility Checklists, Construction Concept Inspection Reports, Accreditation Memorandum, etc.

Assists the agency and its government and industrial partners in creating and completing security area paperwork to safeguarding classified information and to sustain and advance the agency mission along with the agency Physical Security Programs.

Creates and presents informational briefing and training sessions as indicated by government connected to the agency Physical Security Programs.

Prepares business and administrative support documents using electronic software tools for efficient and effective program and project management, examples include presentations, written documents, spreadsheets, SharePoint, and other office software tools.

Provides input and assists with drafting and maintaining internal agency policy documents, standard operating procedures, instructional handouts and other forms of awareness and training materials for physical security.

References and uses agency, DoD and IC security directives, instructions, standards, and guidelines to enforce compliance and mitigate security risks.

Interprets security policy on matters pertaining to processing, dissemination, and controlling of classified materials.

Creates, suggests, generates, maintains and provides input to an assortment of administrative articles such as weekly activity reports, metrics, meetings (staff and management), forms, briefings, US government response to official taskers and other official responses for required information, and official correspondence to sustain and advance the agency Physical Security Programs.

Performs government and industrial site visits worldwide to inspect facilities, e.g., new construction, renovations, modifications, leased facilities, and security cognizance transfers; validate requirements are being met; and advise security programs at visited location connected to physical security and agency programs.

Creates trip reports which include inspection, recommendations, items requiring follow through and completion, pertinent travel related information, and acquired or produced threat assessments.

Qualifications

Clearance Required : TS / SCI with ability to obtain a CI Poly.

Degree and Years of Experience : Experience of at least 2 years performing work in any security discipline.

Desired Certifications :

Certifications to include but not limited to : Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and ICD 705 SCIF Course.

Required Skills :

Experience using Microsoft Suite.

Experience in providing security briefings.

Ability to sustain prolonged standing, walking and climbing.

Experience writing security reports.

Must have physical capabilities that include : Prolonged walking, standing or ability to lift 50+lbs.

Desired Skills :

Familiarization of generating a Fixed Facility Checklist.

Experience using IC SCIF Database.

Experience conducting risk assessments.
