CONTROLLER

How You'll Contribute

  • Maintain strategic oversight for financial operations including weekly financial review with the President; preparation of board packets and attendance at board and finance meetings; lead the budget process; oversee investments and review and recommend long term investment strategies including capital funding
  • Manage annual audit and tax preparation including completing timely audit and tax documents
  • Lead monthly and year-end close; reconcile accounts and maintain fixed asset worksheet
  • Oversee insurance renewals, cost analysis and applications
  • Approve payroll and tax documents; manage unemployment claims; payroll audits; approve work-study reimbursements
  • Oversee all risk management activities; including broker management and policy comparison
  • Ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act and other regulations
  • Mentor, train and oversee support staff
  • Manage Great Plains accounting system and ERP-CAMs
  • About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - MBA and / or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Accounting information systems experience (Great Plains and ERP-CAMs)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe; Paylocity experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP, FASB Pronouncements, and IRS regulations
  • Analytical, detail and process oriented, effective communication skills, excellent judgment and discretion.
  • Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including internal equity, market data, the candidate's qualifications- including but not limited to specialty skills, prior relevant industry experience, relevant degrees or certifications (e.g. CPA, JD). The salary range estimate below is inclusive of all departments within the company and offered salaries may vary within the given range between departments. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this level is $115,000-$130,000 not including other competitive benefits.
