  • The position is working onsite at our Everett, WA facility

What You Will Do

  • Perform analyses to demonstrate the durability and structural integrity of landing gear components; Execute structural analysis to substantiate components with deviations to B / P requirements for landing gear common to Boeing aircraft using Boeing methods and tools.
  • Support in Service Engineering to substantiate viability of landing gear undergoing refurbishment at Collins MRO facilities.
  • Conduct analysis, including static, fatigue and safelife for new landing gear design initiatives.
  • Obtain MRB authorization for Boeing landing gear. Evaluate and disposition landing gear components not meeting B / P requirements.
  • Advance technology, refine engineering processes, document analysis findings, and present results to management and customers.
  • Travel up to 5% (Domestic).
  • Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience using Boeing structural analysis methods and tools
  • Experience with an FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software
  • Experience with 3D modeling software
  • Experience writing technical reports
  • Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Abaqus or similar CAD software
  • Experience with stress-life fatigue analysis
  • Experience with analysis of bolted joints
  • Experience with Damage Tolerance Analysis is a plus
  • Advanced experience with non-linear FEA models including assembly models with contact, plasticity, and large deformation. Modal and dynamic response analysis is a plus.
  • Experience in one or more computer programming languages (e.g. MATLAB, Python, Fortran). Experience with Fortran is a plus
  • Experience in the use of typical Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to present to customers, operators, and levels of leadership internally & externally.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T dimensioning and tolerancing)
