Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Location : Hybrid – Gold River, CA (within 30+ mile radius preferred)

Job Type : Full-time

Work Mode : Hybrid (2 days onsite / week)

About the Role

We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Oracle DBA to join our team and lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-level Oracle database systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical databases. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with opportunities to influence architecture and strategy.

Responsibilities

Monitor database performance, usage, and capacity; proactively address issues.
Recommend and implement performance tuning strategies to optimize system responsiveness.
Design and maintain complex data structures to support scalable and efficient database operations.
Develop and manage load balancing and high-availability solutions to minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with database security policies and implement robust access controls.
Lead database-related projects including installations, upgrades, and backup / recovery planning.
Integrate Oracle databases with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and resolve compatibility issues.
Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to support business-critical systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

6+ years of experience in Oracle database design, administration, and maintenance.

Strong knowledge of DBMS features, performance tuning, and system maintenance procedures.

Experience with hardware / software installation and upgrade processes.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in PL / SQL and scripting for automation and monitoring.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Effective communication and collaboration abilities.

Experience leading technical teams or projects.

Ability to anticipate issues and take proactive action.

Willingness to travel occasionally for team collaboration or onsite support.

Work Environment

Hybrid role requiring onsite presence 2 days per week in Gold River, CA.

May require occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance or incident response.
