Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Location :  Hybrid – Gold River, CA (within 30+ mile radius preferred)

Job Type :  Full-time

Work Mode :  Hybrid (2 days onsite / week)

About the Role

We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Oracle DBA to join our team and lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-level Oracle database systems. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical databases. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with opportunities to influence architecture and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor database performance, usage, and capacity; proactively address issues.
  • Recommend and implement performance tuning strategies to optimize system responsiveness.
  • Design and maintain complex data structures to support scalable and efficient database operations.
  • Develop and manage load balancing and high-availability solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with database security policies and implement robust access controls.
  • Lead database-related projects including installations, upgrades, and backup / recovery planning.
  • Integrate Oracle databases with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software and resolve compatibility issues.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to support business-critical systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of experience in Oracle database design, administration, and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of DBMS features, performance tuning, and system maintenance procedures.
  • Experience with hardware / software installation and upgrade processes.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in PL / SQL and scripting for automation and monitoring.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience leading technical teams or projects.
  • Ability to anticipate issues and take proactive action.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for team collaboration or onsite support.
  • Work Environment

  • Hybrid role requiring onsite presence 2 days per week in Gold River, CA.
  • May require occasional evening or weekend work for maintenance or incident response.
