OMCA seeks a collaborative relationship-builder to join our 12-person fundraising team to become our first Major Gifts Officer. Reporting to and working alongside the Director of Individual Giving, this individual will carry a portfolio of major gift prospects and will cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and major gift donors. The ideal candidate will have experience with the principles and practices of individual fundraising, including donor research, moves management, and donor stewardship, preferably in a campaign environment.

OMCA is on the precipice of a new major philanthropic campaign to boost annual contributed revenue and grow its endowment in support of strategic initiatives. This position will play a pivotal role in the success of the campaign. Currently, OMCA's total contributed revenue is approximately $9 million annually to support operations. OMCA's campaign hopes to bring that number to $15 million annually by 2030, while also growing the museum's endowment by at least $20 million.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in expanding donor pipelines, cultivating meaningful relationships, and inspiring and mentoring a dedicated team. Superior communication skills will be critical to success, as well as a deep passion for and commitment to the work and values of OMCA.

• Manage a portfolio of 50-100 major gift donors and high wealth prospects who have the capacity to make multi-year commitments of $10,000 - $99,999 and above
• Maintain an annual pool of prospective major gift donors who will be solicited in the next 1218-month period.
• Prepare and deliver persuasive proposals and presentations to secure major gifts. Create and edit campaign prospect and donor correspondence for various purposes, including letters, pledge agreements, and proposals.
• Maintain strong relationships with current donors and ensure their ongoing engagement and satisfaction.
• Research donor prospects and produce confidential donor profiles and research reports as needed, including working with the campaign consultants on the use of screening data
• Effectively utilize the database to maintain records of contacts with donors and prospects; analyze potential donor research materials to target appropriate givers; and track, evaluate and present relevant giving information.
• Maintain campaign timeline, including solicitation schedule.
• Provide support for committee volunteers and leadership
• Participate in planning, organizing and supporting events to cultivate and steward major donors.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for the work of evolving OMCA's individual giving fundraising practices to align with the Museum's evolution to become a more anti-racist museum and OMCA's values around diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Set up and maintain campaign proposals and donor records in Raiser's Edge
• Ensure gifts and pledges are accurately tracked in Raiser's Edge by the Development Operations team and reflect the donor's intent
