Apprentice Fleet Technician - Part Time- Seasonal

Job Description

RATE :  $ / hour Position follows Pepsi mentor while performing basic diagnostic and repair work, including scheduled preventative maintenance, oil and filter changes, and repairs to trucks (light, medium, and DOT-regulated vehicles), vans, forklifts, and material handling equipment. Position works with limited independence while working with mentor. This position requires that you use Pepsi supplied basic hand tools. Diagnostic, ergonomic, and high-tech equipment will be provided. Due to the scope and variety of Pepsi's fleet, our department includes a variety of positions and job opportunities, ranging from entry-level to master technicians. We provide extensive training and continuous education to build onto your current basic technical degree program. Position requires the following (to be completed with or without a reasonable accommodation) : Position requires physical movements including lifting, pinching, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, and manipulating and handling objects. Position must be able to lift up to 50lbs. PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

• Learn to diagnose failures of vehicles and material handling equipment
• Learn to complete oil and filter changes
• Disassemble, repair and reassemble parts and equipment as necessary
• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles
• Take direction from mentor and supervisors
• Use computer-based diagnostics to interface with equipment
• Use a computer to access prior work orders and complete current work order
• Maintain vehicle records as required
• Repair fleet equipment
• Successfully complete Pepsi safety training as needed
• Complete OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and other necessary training as required
• Communicate with equipment operators, mentor, supervisors, and others
• Manage parts inventory as parts are used in repairs
