Senior Infrastructure Engineer (AWS / SaaS Platform)

First Due, a leading public safety software company, is searchin g for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to help lead the evolution of our mission-critical SaaS platform. This role will drive strategic cloud infrastructure projects on AWS , enhance system reliability, and ensure our services scale seamlessly as we grow. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with a strategic mindset, helping shape the future of our cloud and data architecture.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead and execute strategic infrastructure initiatives across AWS to ensure scalability, security, and reliability of our production systems.
• Design, build, and maintain core infrastructure services , including networking, compute, storage, and CI / CD pipelines supporting a multi-tenant SaaS environment.
• Develop and implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure optimal performance and early detection of issues.
• Improve observability through better logging, metrics, and tracing to drive faster root cause analysis and continuous service improvement.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure infrastructure supports fast, safe deployments and high uptime SLAs.
• Assist in defining and executing the cloud infrastructure roadmap , including long-term scalability, cost optimization, and automation goals.
• Own and optimize PostgreSQL database operations , while also evaluating and recommending future data storage and management technologies (e.g., NoSQL, managed data services, or distributed databases).
• Enhance disaster recovery, high availability, and incident response strategies for critical services.
• Contribute to security posture improvements , including IAM design, encryption, network security, and compliance alignment.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices for infrastructure-as-code, automation, and cloud governance.
