Position Summary :
The Rehabilitation Aide supports residents in their daily functional maintenance activities as directed by licensed therapists in the Rehabilitation Department. This role assists with a variety of essential care tasks including mobility, self-care, and health monitoring, contributing to the overall therapeutic goals of each resident's care plan.
- Assist residents in performing Range of Motion exercises under the guidance of licensed therapists.
- Support residents in mobility activities such as bed mobility, sitting, transferring, standing, stair climbing, and walking.
- Assist residents during mealtimes, primarily breakfast and lunch, ensuring appropriate support with eating as needed.
- Aid residents with bathing, including implementation of the Functional Maintenance Program (FMP) protocols.
- Provide support with dressing and grooming activities as outlined in individual FMPs, focusing on resident participation and independence.
- Take and record vital signs in accordance with facility procedures and during FMP sessions.
- Accurately document and report residents' progress and health status to charge nurses and supervisors; participate in care planning meetings or committees as required.
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, including infection control, hazardous material use, bloodborne pathogens, and fire safety protocols.
- Maintain and promote resident rights and dignity in all interactions and care activities.
- Deliver care and assistance according to the assignment sheet and therapist instructions.
Requirements :
Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to resident care
CNA certificate in MA required.
Restorative Aide / experience on a rehabilitation unit required
40 hrs. / week (Every other weekend / Holiday)
Self-starter, motivated, reliable, team player and positive attitude.
Proficiency in documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
Basic computer skills required.
