Fusion HCR is seeking a Network Engineer to support a critical Aruba hardware end-of-life (EOL) replacement project. This is a contract position working within an enterprise environment, focused on upgrading and migrating legacy Aruba infrastructure to ensure continued network stability, performance, and vendor support.

Project Overview :

This project involves the assessment, planning, decommissioning, and replacement of Aruba wireless access points, controllers, and related hardware that have reached or are approaching end-of-life status. The engineer will play a key role in executing replacement strategies with minimal disruption to production environments.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform detailed assessments of existing Aruba wireless infrastructure to identify EOL equipment.
  • Plan and execute the decommissioning and replacement of Aruba APs, controllers (e.g., AP 1800), and associated components.
  • Install, configure, and test new Aruba wireless devices in alignment with enterprise network standards.
  • Collaborate with network operations and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless transitions with minimal downtime.
  • Update network documentation, including diagrams, inventory records, and configuration files.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to new hardware deployment or connectivity.
  • Ensure compliance with internal change control and security policies throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with hands-on work in wireless infrastructure projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Aruba wireless technologies, including access points, controllers, and Airwave.
  • Experience performing hardware upgrades and lifecycle management in enterprise environments.
  • Proficient in network documentation and change management best practices.
  • Familiarity with VLANs, Layer 2 switching, and integration with Cisco or other enterprise switching platforms.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently or within a project team.
  • Preferred : Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., PCI, SOX, MICS).
  • Must be eligible to obtain Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration (if applicable).
