Job Title : Process Planning Chemist

Location : Beaumont, TX (7665 TX-73, 77705)

Duration : 5+ months (possibility of extension)

Pay Rate : $25–$28 / hr (W2)

Position Purpose

The Process Planning Chemist is responsible for developing, planning, and monitoring operations across materials management, including lab pack repack, material processing, tank farm, and receiving sections. The role supports optimal incinerator burn results while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards. The chemist will also assist plant operations personnel with troubleshooting, process startups, production volumes, and equipment-related issues.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed written burn plans specifying hazardous waste type, heating values, chlorine content, and handling instructions.
  • Provide clear instructions to hourly staff on safe and proper handling of solid waste for incineration.
  • Develop operational plans for specialty and feeder systems, including waste type, flushing, handling of residuals, and operator guidance.
  • Maintain and update databases on reactive materials, profiles, compositions, handling methods, and incineration requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure hazardous waste inventory is processed within designated timelines.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel to determine optimal handling methods for various waste streams.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports to evaluate and improve process burn plans.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline required.
  • 2–4 years of experience in the hazardous waste industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of processing methodologies.
  • Skills & Abilities

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective time management with ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Confident in presenting technical information effectively.
