Project Eagle Development Manager

Project Eagle is an early childhood program focused on preparing children, engaging families, and promoting excellence for children and families in Kansas City, Kansas. Project Eagle provides home-based and center-based services to pregnant women and / or children ages birth to five through a variety of programs, the largest being Early Head Start. Project Eagle is also a member of the Educare Learning Network, part of a national initiative that serves as a platform for broader change, inspiring high-quality programs in communities, improving public policies within each state, and demonstrating a comprehensive approach to the first five years of life and learning.

The Project Eagle Development Manager leads the design and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including planned giving, donor cultivation, events, and marketing efforts. This role supports the Leadership Team in advancing Project Eagle's mission and ensures all materials align with brand standards and strategic goals.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Create a plan for donor development with support from KU Endowment.
  • Engage in donor acquisition.
  • Continue with donor engagement.
  • Create and co-facilitate tour opportunities for perspective donors and community partners.
  • Create a grant calendar.
  • Collaborate with the Director to write grant applications.
  • Collaborate with KU Endowment on marketing materials to share Project Eagle's story and impact.
  • Collaborate with KU Endowment and Communications to build social media interest.
  • Manage all marketing and donor relations duties achieving annual donor goals to support operations.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events.
  • Create and implement strategic communications plans that lead to the successful achievement of business goals and objectives.
  • Develop written materials to support Project Eagle's strategic plans.
  • Research, analyze, and manage specific fund-raising campaigns that support Project Eagle's mission and values.
  • Work with the Leadership team to prepare preliminary budgets for every campaign, responsible for pricing, planning, research, and promotion.
  • Advise the Director on giving trends from different channels for the organization to make informed decisions.

Anticipated Salary : $83,000

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in marketing, communications, media relations, journalism, or public relations. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in marketing and / or fundraising in a nonprofit setting.
  • Two (2) years of experience of working with social media platforms (Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Instagram), website development / maintenance, and e-newsletter production.
  • Two (2) years of experience creating marketing materials.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Two (2) years of experience and knowledge of all elements of the fundraising, current information technology and communication methods.
  • Two (2) years of donor relations experience.
  • Two (2) years of Event Management experience.
  • Skills :

  • Computer software skills, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

    Coverage begins on day one for health, dental, and vision insurance and includes health expense accounts with generous employer contributions if the employee participates in a qualifying health plan.     Compensation Statement : The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.

    Pay Range : $83,000.00 - $131,000.00

    Minimum : $83,000.00

    Midpoint : $107,000.00

    Maximum : $131,000.00
