Summary
The Senior QA|QC Architect will be responsible for reviewing contract documents in accordance with applicable codes, HMC standards, and industry best practices. Document reviews should identify errors, omissions, inconsistencies, ambiguities, and opportunities where design value can be added. This position will be responsible for educating staff regarding codes, drawing conventions, architectural detailing, construction practices, and innovative methods or technologies relevant to the design and delivery of architectural projects. Responsible for researching and investigating specific topics related to building science innovation. Able to build relationships with industry partners related to construction practices, material innovation, technological innovation, and general architectural practice.
Responsibilities
- Champion HMC architectural standards, design guidelines
- Self-manage review of multiple projects as assigned
- Maintain familiarity with codes and regulations within HMC’s core practices of healthcare, education, and civic; including DSA, OSHPD, contract codes, building codes, OSHA and other related legal requirements of construction; exhibit vigilance in identifying non-compliant conditions in all phases of design and construction
- Provide expert consultation as required
- Lead the education of staff relative to general and specific technical expertise
- Produce training content and collaborate in formulation and implementation of technical development initiatives
- Collaborate in the development of HMC standard architectural guidelines and processes
- Collaborate with project team to ensure the quality of project design and documentation, through all phases of projects
- Regional travel, as needed, to meet with and provide training for staff in HMC offices
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements

The actual offered salary for this position will vary depending on multiple factors including the candidate’s qualification, education, position knowledge, work experience, skills, ability, work location, and internal incumbent compensation for similar roles. We do not anticipate individuals hired into this position will start at or near the top half of the range listed; the decision will be based on each individual case. The salary range listed above does not include other compensation elements such as discretionary bonus opportunities, employee stock ownership grants, paid time off, medical insurance, and other wage and benefit opportunities.
