Robotics Teacher (Part-Time)

STEAMspark is seeking a curious, tech-savvy, and engaging Part-Time Robotics Teacher to introduce elementary-aged children to the exciting world of robotics. This position is ideal for a creative educator who enjoys building, coding, and problem-solving, and is looking for a flexible teaching opportunity in a mission-driven, STEAM-focused school environment.

As our Part-Time Robotics Teacher, you will lead small-group robotics classes 1-2 time(s) per week in the afternoons, depending on child enrollment. Children will learn the fundamentals of robotics through age-appropriate platforms, coding exercises, and team-based challenges.

Work Schedule

  • Part-time position
  • Classes held between 3 : 00 PM 5 : 00 PM, two to three days per week
  • Exact schedule will be determined based on child enrollment and class grouping
  • Key Responsibilities

    Instruction & Curriculum Design

  • Teach engaging, age-appropriate robotics classes using tools such as LEGO Education kits, VEX, or similar platforms
  • Introduce basic coding concepts and problem-solving strategies
  • Design hands-on activities that build engineering, logic, and collaboration skills
  • Prepare students for possible participation in school showcases or STEM events
  • Child Engagement & Growth

  • Create a fun, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
  • Adapt instruction to accommodate a variety of learning styles and experience levels
  • Encourage teamwork, experimentation, and perseverance
  • Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate regularly with families and school staff about student progress
  • Collaborate with the enrichment team to support integrated learning experiences
  • Maintain accurate attendance and supply records
  • Required Qualifications

  • Background in robotics, engineering, computer science, or STEM education
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching or mentoring experience with children
  • Enthusiasm for working with elementary-aged children
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Familiarity with block-based coding platforms (e.g., Scratch, Blockly) or Python
  • Prior teaching experience in a school or youth enrichment setting
  • CPR / First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
