Job Summary

Phoenix College, a learning-centered community college dedicated to student success, seeks a Mathematics Faculty member to begin Fall 2026. The successful candidate will teach courses from developmental to transfer level, using varied instructional methods to engage and support a broad student population. Responsibilities include curriculum development, participation in departmental and college initiatives, and contributing to the College's culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Essential Functions

Supervises and instructs a culturally and academically varied student population in a classroom setting using multiple teaching strategies.

Develops written syllabi, course outline and teaching materials.

Evaluates knowledge of Mathematics taught and monitors students' scholastic records; prepares and grades students' exams and projects.

Maintains and enhances mathematics expertise and instructional skills by participating in professional development and integrating new trends and technologies into instruction.

Maintains office hours to assist and advise students.

Engages in the academic growth of the college by participating in district-wide, campus and departmental activities, committee work, and community engagement.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree or higher in the teaching field, such as mathematics, probability, statistics, applied mathematics, actuarial science, operations research, or decision sciences.

OR

Master's degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics, probability, statistics, applied mathematics, actuarial science, operations research, or decision sciences.
