Performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines. Follows blueprints or engineering specifications to install units. Performs troubleshooting to identify the cause of problems. Maintains and secures a spare parts inventory. Recommends purchasing maintenance equipment and supplies as required to improve processes and efficiencies. Typically requires an apprenticeship and / or completion of technical training. Requires a high school diploma. The regulations governing the location may require an HVAC Mechanical State License and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC). Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. May require 0-2 year of general work experience.

Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accredited organization or vocational training in HVACR with 1 year experience.

Associates or technical degree or certification in HVAC field and experience with Johnson Controls Metasys

Ability to use a building automation system, preference to Metasys

Proficient with a computer and computer applications
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration theories, principles, and systems operations.
Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices for HVACR systems.
Ability to read and understand engineering and architectural design documents.
SKILLS
Planning and organizing the most cost effective use of materials, manpower, and equipment necessary to safely perform daily assignments to provide timely support to campus customers, campus security, and employee safety.
