18.00-$20.00 per hour

Temp to Hire

Monday-Friday, 8 : 30am-4 : 30pm

Columbus, Ohio

Starts October 6th, 2025

The Underwriting Technical Assistant role primarily performs new business entry, renewal prep, policy change, and various other processing tasks to support the independent agents and underwriters. High volume, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to handle a wide range of tasks on any given day. Reporting through the Underwriting Services Department, this role is part of Small Commercial Operations and provides a career development path in Commercial Lines for those who excel.

  • What you’ll be doing :

  • Complete manual new business entry for various Commercial lines of business
  • Enter and process manual policy change transactions for all Commercial lines of business
  • Perform review and pricing adjustment of low complexity Small Commercial renewals
  • Process various mid-term policy transactions
  • Provide timely, courteous, and quality customer service to internal and external partners by meeting specific transaction level SLAs
  • Who we’re looking for :

  • Experience in processing related roles is a plus
  • A clean credit history
  • Previous insurance or related work experience is not required but is a plus
  • High school or GED equivalent
  • College degree can be substituted for prior work experience
  • Proficient use of common technology, including laptop / PC, email systems, and task management / workflow software
  • Ability to process tasks in a timely manner, meeting SLAs
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Remote employees must have adequate high-speed internet
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are a must
