Additional hours will be required to include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel is required. This position is not suitable for remote work and regular, on-site hours are required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose of Position

The IT Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting and securing the IT Systems for Texas Athletics. This position is responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues across user systems. The role includes providing in-person and remote support. The IT Coordinator proactively monitors system vulnerabilities, ensures timely updates and upgrades, and helps develop and maintain IT policies and documentation.

Responsibilities

Responds to and resolves inquiries and requests for assistance with IT equipment including but not limited to workstations, printers, networking, event ticketing, video equipment, and related software products. Provides exceptional customer support for Texas Athletics staff, student athletes, and visitors. Interacts and communicates with peers and customers in a professional, client-focused manner while working both in a team setting and independently with limited direction.

Installs, configures, upgrades, and supports software and hardware in accordance with departmental and campus policies. Utilizes system management software to provide remote troubleshooting for departmental IT equipment.

Provides technical support for events hosted by the department including but not limited to internal staff requests, stats, TV, AV, media and other invited parties, and ticketing. Aides in development of IT support policies and procedures for events.

Participates in technical planning and documentation for Texas Athletics IT and Texas Athletics sponsored events. Establishes close communications and good working relationships with staff, external partners, and management.

Maintains accurate information efficiently across several systems, including support issues and inventory management.

Provides guidance and input for lifecycle planning and IT budget expenditures .

Other related functions as assigned. Drive a UT or rental vehicle on and off campus.

Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Conference, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and / or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. In compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and Texas Education Code Sec. 51.252, this position may be a Non-Confidential Employee as defined by University policies on Sex Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Interpersonal Violence and Stalking. Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Two (2) years demonstrated experience in IT customer service and / or help desk environment. Two (2) years of experience with knowledge of hardware and software operations, installation, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of active directory, imaging tools, and remote support tools. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Effective communications with both technical and non-technical employees. Ability to work as part of a team and independently. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field. Four (4) years of experience with functions listed in required qualifications. Systems administration experience for windows and macOS computers using enterprise systems management software and tools such as JAMF and MECM. Experience supporting and setting up technologies for large events. IT certification(s). Familiarity with inventory and supply monitoring systems.

Driving Required :

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Retirement Plan Eligibility :

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
