Wastewater Operator

Position Summary :

The Wastewater Operator will be responsible for the daily operation monitoring and maintenance of the facilitys industrial wastewater treatment systems. This individual will ensure that all processes meet regulatory standards support environmental sustainability initiatives and maintain accurate documentation of system performance.

Key Responsibilities :

Operate monitor and maintain wastewater treatment equipment including pumps tanks filters and chemical dosing systems.

Conduct daily inspections and sampling to ensure compliance with local state and federal environmental regulations.

Adjust chemical feed rates and process parameters based on laboratory results and system performance.

Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.

Maintain accurate records of flows test results chemical usage and system performance .

Collaborate with EHS and Maintenance teams to ensure all safety and environmental goals are achieved.

Participate in internal and external audits inspections and permit renewals.

Assist with training and SOP development for wastewater operations.

Respond to system alarms or emergencies promptly and effectively.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED required; technical training in wastewater treatment environmental science or a related field preferred.

Illinois Class A B or C Wastewater Operator License (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).

25 years of experience in industrial wastewater treatment preferably within a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.

Strong understanding of EPA IEPA and local environmental regulations .

Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

Proficiency in recordkeeping and data entry related to compliance documentation.

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
